Student work, wow!
Wow! My student, Kristin Nielsen-Drake, shared these images from the petal rubbing project she had her students do as a way to personalize their composition books. How terrific! Kristin was part of the fantastic Crested Butte Ripple art retreat where I showed students a simple way to rub the petals (instead of pounding them) using spoons. Kristin took it to her elementary school students and they not only rubbed but painted the pages (after outlining the petal impressions with pen). These were attached to the composition books after being laminated. Once again, my students continue to amaze me and make me so proud! It is wonderful to share these techniques and see them used in so many different venues. Today I passed along Kristin's work to another teacher-friend in Boulder; thanks so much for sharing this so others can find some new inspiration for the classroom!
