Finally, I had a moment to really look at those travel pictures that are more "art shots" than memory triggers. Although these lilacs are an incredible memory (we missed the first bus so had to wait another hour for the next one so I wandered around the village following my nose; these were incredibly fragrant!). I have been using my Photo Cube to print off these pictures then I cut them and work with them in my art journals. Great fun: using a large hole punch to take out a circular section...it is just a bit abstract and a gives a great shape to write around with the journal text. I'll have examples on my gallery page soon! Below are some shots of the poppies that were all around an artist's studio in Provence. Doris Salomon is a painter living in Miramas, Provence (a teeny tiny village with the worlds best ice cream parlor!!). We were fortunate to be in France at the height of the poppy season; they really did look like all the impressionist paintings that use red to make the colors pop.
