We had such a great class yesterday. Wonderful, creative energy shared in the Art Salon space which is such a great location. There were 9 students, each created the most beautiful wax paper sheets and each started their sampler book. The 3.5 hours flew by (next time I teach this I definitely will plan for 4 hours). Working in the book form was really fun and provided a whole new approach, now the challenge is to keep the sampler going!
Ahhh, flowers, salt air, palm trees...what a lovely change for the eyes from the Denver brown and crunchy days. I don't even imagine all the colors we are missing until I see the riot of flowers that have started to bloom in the southern, moist climate. We were in San Diego last week for a few days; lots of exploring, eating and even some time for sitting on the beach with my journal. I had prepared a few pages before leaving and found the small water color boxes were the most inviting since they require just some quick impressions which I can finish in the hotel room later.
