This two day Journal Immersion art workshop was just amazing. We met in the conference area of the Elevation Lodge (Mt. Crested Butte) & spent two days together (who will forget those lunch brownies?!!) . Our sides ached from the laughter, our hearts grew larger from the warm and open friendships and the 48 hours felt like a 4 hour workshop! I was honored to get to know each woman and to see the playful, creative spirits emerge. Thanks to all!

Picture an art room with a window facing Mount Crested Butte. Now picture a perfect day and that art room filled with delightful, creative, adventurous woman!! How lucky I was today? This was a class in Gelli Plate mono printing, offered thru the Wildflower Festival. We sure had fun with a wide variety of artistic expression using this basic technique. Even the paper towels and paper plates turned into beautiful expressions. Thanks to all the participants!
Our next sketch meetup is Weds, July 6 at 1:00. As a crazy change of pace we will meet in the Cherry Creek Mall. There is an spot on the first floor with little tables and plenty of seating in the area in front of Anthropology, Nordstrom's Cafe and Urban Outfitters (and the escalator) on the far west side of the mall. It is easy to park & out of the heat. Lots of people (n motion or sitting) as well as lots of different objects to sketch. Pull up a chair and join the group if you'd like a new challenge this week! No need to RSVP, no cost & no instruction; there seems to be some lovely anonymity to sketching in a group so it is easier to be in a public space together - and this is a very public space! After this meetup we will switch to 9:00am to catch the cool morning air, and the next location on July 20 will be the Denver Botanic Gardens, near the Monet pond and western, outdoor cafe.
