)Travel Journaling 101: The Five-Step Approach
Are you getting ready for a trip over the holidays and you’re thinking you want to capture the special moments and memorable sights in a journal? I will share how to start travel journaling! The 3 hour workshop features my five-step approach: materials, activation, capturing moments, anchoring the experience and personalizing the pages. While the emphasis is on working with visual elements, I will also cover ways to incorporate text into your travel journal. Plus, learn how to work with all that ephemera you collect on a trip (think business cards, menus, maps). In addition, I'll share ways to do quick sketches that capture a view or meal—no need to be an accomplished artist. And even if you’ve already taken a trip and you’re thinking it would be fun to create a personal journal that goes beyond a photo book—you’re in luck! Travelers report that keeping a journal adds to the overall experience by offering a reason to slow down and focus on the magical moments.
This course is offered through the Santa Fe Book Arts Group
