Sigh. In February my sister and I thought the notion of any kind of virus affecting our lives was something so far from reality we set up this picture and were laughing and laughing. Now I wish I had that full bottle of Clorox wipes on hand, I would never play with an N95 mask, let along get into a store set-up bathtub!!!. What happened? So the past few months have been full of delicious studio time, high anxiety, loving our no-traffic neighborhood and fear. Sound like a familiar bounce? In the midst of it I have been working on creating new content to share virtually, as well as some mixed media painting. Below is one from my new series of dragonflies. Why dragonflies? Who knows. I checked a spirit animal site and they are mentioned as symbols of change. LOL. Mainly I am just reaching for colors I love, tools to create tons of texture, and more chocolate.

Here are just a few of the hundreds of wonderful photos in my camera roll. What a month! Both Sketching Spain classes were a blast, thanks to everyone!
My previous post did not have the right embedded code for the videos I uploaded to Youtube showing my travel journal preparation then the two video flip- thrus. Here they all are!
I just posted part 1 of my travel journal for the month long adventure in Spain. This video shows show I prepare a book before heading out. The next 2 videos will be the flip thrus of individual pages. If you enjoy it, please subscribe and leave a "thumbs up"! Thanks so much.

I just returned from a month in Spain, and I am walking, dancing and skipping in gratitude! The first 10 days I spent exploring with my husband, then I led a Sketching Spain workshop to the Costa Brava and Barcelona, then another workshop to Sevilla and the Andalusian region. It was marvelous!! I am working on a video showing how I prepared my travel journal (before the trip), then a flip thru of the completed journal. It should be ready in a few days. I'll also post more pictures here but for now, I am basking in the memories of super-fun participants, amazing food and unbelievable sites to sketch. Our theme: captura el momento!
We just finished our Un-Leashed workshop; 2 1/2 days on a ranch outside of Crested Butte. What magic! We had 7 participants coming in from various states, terrific weather and a remarkable experience. Rumi started each day, followed by ribbon "movement" to get the energy flowing. We sketched, stitched, stamped and created unique books to hold our stories. Deep thanks to Sumaya for facilitating the inner-heart time with the horses. What a special herd!
Wow; talking about walking in gratitude! Carol Ann and I hosted a second round of the Creative Pages, Mixed Media Adventures workshop last weekend and it was a blast! Enjoy the pics:
Thank you wonderful, creative ladies! Carol Ann and I just completed another great 2 day workshop where the laughter and paint flowed. Students made some books, explored some new ways to use gelatin printing plates and ways to combine fabric and paper. We had a blast in a beautiful, sun-filled space.
Yesterday I was honored with the presence of most of the students who attended the Sketching Spain, 2018 trip. We had such fun reminiscing and sharing our travel journals. I am always amazed at the heart-full experience of making new friends, sharing stories and finding so much comfort in the company of creative folks.
