I just returned from a really fabulous 3 week trip to England and Paris where I spent time with my sister, my son and my niece (both kids have been studying abroad). I am in the un-packing phase of the "full travel experience"; wanting to make notes on what to bring (and leave behind) for the next trip, wanting to finish my travel journal, wanting to cement every detail into my memory bank (the travel journal is helpful for this!) and, oh, yes, needing to get the laundry done and the suitcases put away! Many, many highlights: the Isle of Wight in England, Cassis in southern France, Vappiano's for dinner over and over again, the Matisse show at the Tate Modern, Anna's favorite fountain in Aix and a sketching class with a journal artist who lives in Aix (the next blog post will be devoted to her and the class). Most amazing to me was taking the time to sit and journal with my dear sister. Having the art journal experience be a priority rather than an after-thought was amazing and such a gift. I will share pages as I get them finished and will unpack the experience bit by bit in this blog and my monthly newsletter.
