An amazing 4 hour drive from Denver last weekend landed me in Palisade, CO. This is the view from the Wine Country Inn...magnificent. Just on the far side of the parking lot are the grape vines and beyond that is a peach orchard. I loved being in the midst of agriculture! The apricot trees were just starting to bloom but I can just imagine the way the peach blossoms will light up the valley in the next few weeks. I gave an Altered Book workshop in the classroom space at the Blue Pig Gallery in Palisade, what a great time! 10 ladies from the valley spent the afternoon with me playing with collage and mixed media. Thanks Mickie for setting this up! We had such a great time that I am hioping to do another workshop for the fall. This time, I will combine the trip with a winery tour, orchard tours and art-journaling. I even heard about a winery tour on canoes; nothing like floating and sipping while journaling!! Join me! We just returned from the opening of the new show at the Abecedarian Gallery in the Santa Fe arts district (Denver). WOW! We heard a book talk from Nava Atlas as she descibed her experiences in "trade" publications (vegan and vegitarian cook books) and her process creating fascinating artists" books. If you love the unique and intimate appeal of artists' books you will love this show. When you are there, look up on the wall - I have a scroll in the show made from clay, canvas and other mixed media. Up until May 8, info at www.abecedariangallery.com
No progress yet on the video demo...sheesh! One of these days... |
