Workshops:
**I now require a $25 deposit for registration for all workshops, except those taught thru other schools like the Art Student League or Two Hands Paperie. They will handle their own registration. The out of town, "On the Road" workshops require a $100 deposit. The balance will be due at the start of the class. It is important to include your workshop title in the "note to seller" on the order summary page so I know which workshop you are registering for. Intro to visual Journaling: Play Date!

I have set up a class for a few friends, and you are welcome to join us! This is an intro class for anyone interested in getting their journal pages moving with life and energy. No drawing or journal experience necessary! I am constantly updating the materials I introduce, so if you took an intro class before you will learn something new and continue the process of cultivating your creative efforts.

This is a new and exciting 4 session series where students may sign up for the entire series or pick the dates and places that suit your schedule. Experienced and beginning visual journalers welcome! We will meet at the locations listed, enjoy the colors and shapes we observe in the animal kingdom and fill our journal pages with photos, sketches, text and texture. I will bring along various materials to share, students will provide their own journals, pens and favorite portable mixed media tools. Students will also pay for their own admission to each location. This class will be perfect for practicing travel journal techniques!

This workshop is for anyone interested in the art journal (or visual journal) form, and combining photography with textural, layered pages. I will share some amazing techniques, show you how to use a hand-held printer for journal work and open the creative door for you! I guarantee loads of fun, and a way for you to finally use all the photos you have kept in that drawer. No writing or drawing experience necessary, just a desire to create authentic pages as you explore your creative expression.

On the Road, 2012:
Paonia Wine and Journal Workshop
Thursday (4pm), July 19 - Sunday morning, July 22
Have you ever experienced the beauty of Paonia and the Black Forest of the Gunnison? Heaven is on the western slope of Colorado (approx. 4 hour drive from Denver)! Consider joining me for a weekend that includes vineyard tours, wine tasting, picnics and visual journal workshop time. No experience in journaling or sketching required. Students will make lodging arrangements on their own (I will send email links for the hotel and B&B in Paonia) and be responsible for some of their meals. A workshop fee of $225 covers 1 dinner, 2 lunches and an excessive amount of wonderful ice cream (our workshop space is being hosted by Ollie's Ice Cream store and the Glennie Coombe gallery in Paonia) as well as all of the materials used in the journal workshop (except your journal). Taos, New Mexico Thursday, 9/6 (4pm) - Sunday morning 9/9, 2012
This is an "enchanted" workshop that uses the beautiful setting of Taos after the summer crowds. We will be exploring mixed media, "adventure" journal techniques with lots of time for reflection and breathing deeply. No experience in journaling necessary! We will work together in a log cabin on the Lodge grounds with time for exploring the town and the magical valley of Taos.
Call the Mabel Dodge Luhan Lodge (800-846-2235) to reserve your room and email me to reserve your workshop space. $225 ($100 deposit required) covers all materials and workshop space rental, students make room arrangements on their own (staying at the Lodge includes a sumptuous breakfast, prices for rooms range from $110-$150 per night for a double room).
