We are expanding in 2020 with three trips, three different locations and two different artist-instructors!
Teresa Merriman will be the artist instructor for the first trip to Catalonia (Barcelona and the Costa Brava). She is the creative force behind Mind's Eye Journals and a wonderful adventurous spirit! Teresa and Judith share their approach to travel journaling which is to slow down & focus on the poetic moments. We both love to travel as observers rather than tourists. Perfection is not in our vocabulary and we welcome students of all abilities and experience.

The small group (10 max) allows for students to have a very personal, tailored adventure. A knowledgeable local guide will be with us each day. Judith has been the artist leader with Sketching Spain for the past 3 years. She and Danny designed these fabulous adventures in 2017 and have loved every minute! While they have added a new trip each year, they are excited to bring on Teresa (above) to round out the options. Judith has been keeping travel journals for decades and teaches classes on her techniques thru Bluprint and many art centers throughout the US.

How this trip is unique:
This trip has the smallest group (8 students max) which will allow for students to have a very personal art experience in an iconic city. We will slow down, set up for sketching in amazing places and really take the time to absorb the extraordinary light and energy of this magical spot. While we will have a local guide with us each day, the emphasis on this workshop is to get to know the color palette, shapes and light that are unique to this historic location. We have planned an itinerary that allows for a relaxed yet productive experience with demos through the day and lots of time for students to explore their creative expression. You will end the trip having a deeper familiarity with Seville than any tourist just checking off the must-see locations and with a travel journal filled with pages where you "captured the moments".
